Psychological Evaluation

Psychological assessment is a procedure that allows for the acquisition and integration of information on different dimensions of the person, using various methods, techniques and instruments, and different sources of information gathering.

The procedure of a psychological assessment usually involves five key moments: interview, application of psychological instruments, analysis and interpretation of the results, discussion and conclusions about the results and a session to clarify the results and submit the report.

Neuropsychological assessment A neuropsychological assessment aims to understand and clarify how brain structures and functions interfere with psychological processes and behaviour. There are specific conditions with a direct impact on brain function, cognitive functions and behaviour that should be assessed, such as head trauma, strokes or psychopathology (depression, schizophrenia), which can be associated with alterations or deficits in nerve functions (attention, memory, reasoning), as well as degenerative diseases.

In this context, it is also possible to carry out a psychological assessment to clarify the diagnosis (e.g. ADHD in adults).
